Russ White is the man! He made watershed somewhat bearable. He is very patient and understanding. The lab is worth 40% of your grade, so definitely make sure to put effort into your labs. However, don't killing yourself over them! There are 6 labs in class and 11, that's right, 11 labs from the Swanton Pacific Ranch fieldtrip. 6/11 are due the week after the trip; the remaining 5 are due the following week. A couple weeks prior to the trip, lab time is spent going preparing. I would strongly suggest starting what you can ahead of time!! Keep up on your work, get the formatting down, ask questions and know what you are doing. The lab will help your grade if you put the time into it! | |

I really liked Russ. He isn't a full-fledged prof yet, but as a lab instructor, he was one of the best I've had. I missed a lab in the beginning of the quarter and he went out of his way to help me understand the material I missed and was always very friendly. He explained the labs so clearly that it was nearly impossible to get anything but an A in the lab portion of the class. Take Russ if you can! | |
