Dr. McCauley was a great teacher for 325. She tends to talk quickly in lecture though, so lots of students found it helpful to download lectures before class. She really wants to help students, and is very approachable and helpful in office hours. Exams were reasonable and she provides study guides for each one. Lab has a mix of field and indoor activities. Like another reviewer said, these aren't too strenuous, and almost always dismiss a little early. I'd definitely take another class with Dr. McCauley given the chance.

She's a really nice professor and she gives the lecture material in a pretty good way. To be honest I don't think the material itself is that hard since Ecology is a pretty broad topic anyway so you don't have to go into details about stupid things like how cells fix nitrogen or something. Never the less she was a really good professor. There are 3 midterms, and the come by pretty quickly which was surprising at first, but they're not to difficult. She posts study guides on Polylearn which are pretty helpful, especially for practicing problems that require using equations, etc. She was also my lab professor and those were probably the best labs I've had ever. Not because of what they covered, since I'm not extremely interested in Ecology or anything, but just because they were SO CHILL. And I had them on Friday's from 12-3, so thats saying something. You go out a lot, but it's not too bad, and the lab just consists of collected data and then graphing it. And since it's your actual data, if there's no significant pattern, then you still get a good grade, since you're using the classes data as a whole and so the result doesn't matter, as long as you can analyze it, which, after 263 is really easy. In general she's a really good professor, maybe not memorable funny or any other quirks, but a solid choice. You can't go wrong with her.

She has a really annoying voice, but if you can get past that, she is very nice, and wants her students to do well VERY badly. She is a new teacher, and it is pretty obvious, but she is experienced in her field. It wasn't a difficult class, and everything that was expected of me was very clearly explained. No surprises.
