She is nice, but a terrible lecturer. You get used to the accent after about a week, but the class is completely pointless. You spend 90% of the time going over reading. The material is ridiculously easy, so she has to make the tests really detail oriented to spread out the grades. This class is terribly boring, but really not hard. Almost no time spent out of class besides a day or two before tests. Memorize memorize memorize. | |

She means well so I hate to give her a bad rating, but honestly she is terrible at communicating what she wants, accent aside. | |

The person below is completely correct. She is a good teacher, CE 114 lectures need to be redesigned. We did a K'nex project at the end which was really fun. I think the class would be better if we did those kind of projects. The labs were really useful, but a bad lab instructor can ruin it. | |

Professor Mitra is a pretty cool person; she just got stuck with a really boring lecture to teach. CE 114 should have just been a lab... the lecture material put me to sleep, even at noon. She does have a pretty thick accent, which can be a problem but don't worry; just read the book because the tests are directly from the book material. Mitra is a pretty good teacher. | |

Think it was her first quarter teacher at poly when I had her. She got better and better throughout the quarter. I can say I have had excellent teachers and horrible teachers. She is in the middle, about average. I would assume she will improve with time. Don't be scared to take her class. She is willing to help and very approachable. | |

Dr. Mitra explained the material well and was very helpful when I approached her with specific questions. She is patient and is real easy to approach. | |

NEVER take her. You can barely understand her when she talks. She doesn't really care about the students at all. If you do not put the EXACT phrase found in the textbook on your test, you will get the question wrong...even if you understand it and write down an answer that means the same thing. We did dumb projects and lots of busy work. Her lectures are the textbook copied onto an overhead. Now, most of this class, we sat around surfing the web. She can be easy if you can memorize incredibly well. But if not... | |

Accent can be difficult to understand. Her methods of teaching are confusing and the material is difficult to understand. | |
