Prof Simon is the most condescending and pretentious piece of work I've ever had the displeasure of taking for a business class. Although I am not the brunt of her snotty remarks most of the time, it makes me sick how she treats us as if we are mentally delayed or third graders (example: she'll flip the lights on and off if we are "too loud"). I'm sick and tired of her looking down her nose at us and talking all slow and simple as if we are stupid. She's horrid; flashes her PHD around like she's some sort of superior being, and it really nauseates me. Prof Simon, get off your snotty high-horse and learn to relate to human beings. This is why I respect Metcalf way over Simon: Metcalf doesn't waive her superior qualifications over us: that is the true foundation of a respectable professor.

Went in expecting to have Stern Neill and class was switched to Lisa Simon. Everyone was somewhat pissed but I ended up enjoying her class. She is disorganized and at times treated us like little kids...However, she fully believes in the learn by doing teaching style and frankly I wouldn't have asked to learn the course material in a different way. We actually compiled a 70-page report on a major firm (which is a great subject to discuss during a job interview by the way) and we did this on our own through a large amount of time. The class is a lot of work but what 400 level class isn't. The people who complain about Simon most likely are mad because they didn't get an A in a class they expected to do very little work in to produce a good grade. Bottom line... work your butt off, get to know Simon and you will learn a lot and more than likely get an A in 418

this teacher is absolutely RUDE. if she doesnt like you, she will purposely mark your presentations and assignments down. and when you ask her to prove what you did wrong, she cant. she is absolutely childish and treats the class like 2nd graders. DO NOT TAKE SIMON. SHE IS RUDE, ARROGANT, AND AN INSTIGATOR. I will be reporting her to the marketing department.

This class was rather frustrating due to an excessive amount of busy work. There is a chapter reading and quiz due almost every class period, several "learning activities," two midterms, one cumulative final, a case study/presentation, and two marketing research projects. The case study and two projects are done with the same group all quarter so lock down a good group. Professor Simon is fairly nitpicky so check rubrics before submitting assignments. That all being said, she is pretty entertaining during lectures so going to class isn't too bad. She is a nice lady and knows her stuff but the time commitment for this class is, again, frustrating. Definitely an easy B though...

Excellent class, great teacher. I enjoyed coming to class; she was always enthusiastic and kept me interested in doing well in the course. This class inspired me to choose Marketing Management as my concentration.

Great teacher. She makes everything really easy to understand (although reading the book already is easy). Go to class because she tends to show really interesting things! She says she doesnt take attendance but she gives out "extra credit" on days when it seems that a lot of people are skipping.

Lisa Simon is a cool lady. She's super nice and just kinda quirky. She likes to have discussions in class which can be helpful/funny/a waste of time/interesting. She assigns some busy work which is annoying. Her projects are decently time consuming if you want an A. Pick a good group as you stay with the same group all quarter for 3 projects. The online quizzes are frustrating but they force you to keep up and a lot of the questions show up on her exams. Overall, taking Lisa Simon is an okay experience. The 346 class just kinda sucks, but she is probably the best alternative.

I took this class online and it was A TON of work. Three group projects with flaky members, weekly posts where you have to post and comment on other peoples...I got 100% twice and I had to post 2987529835 times to get that. There are quizzes that you have an hour to do that are pretty easy without the book but with the book you should get 100% on them all. The final was in person and I got an 82. Just study all of the quizzes and her study guide, the final was not tricky you just had to learn the material. Shes a nice lady but I just don\'t think this class is necessarily made to be taken online.

Lots of busy work both in class and out of class. But for the most part easy online stuff. Journal, quizzes, presentation, marketing plan, textbook activities. Tries to be funny but fails. Definitely makes her point of view clear, and doesn't like to be corrected if wrong, or care about how her views make someone else feels.

simon is great! she has a great attitude and actually enjoys teaching. you learn a lot, but the class itself is pretty easy. the lectures are repetitive of the readings; there are easy open book quizzes online; all activity assignments online can be done as many times as you want so you can turn in an 100% score every time; and there are NO MIDTERMS!!! The only thing that sucks is that you work on a marketing plan with a group of like 4 or 5 people that takes up a lot of time...and it comes out to only like 8% of your grade or something like that. The final is pretty easy though, it is just like all the online quizzes. now that i have summed up the entire class...take her!!

Lisa comes to class with a smile and is excited to teach. The class is divided into groups (student-choice) that work together on two important assignments. Individually, you have a lot of assignments, but they are easy and she grades mostly based on completion. I really appreciated the way Blackboard was integrated with the class which saved the time and paper I would normally use printing assignments. She also updates grades frequently. As with any class with group projects, meet at least once a week and get work done between meetings.

ECON 222 Freshman Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 6:06 pm, Jun 9, 2006 Report Evaluation |
The class is very childish, but the class is very easy. Simon is a cool teacher, but the lady really does not know as much as she should to teach. Be prepared to have to teach yourself the material, but she makes the midterms simple, and the quizzes are pathetically easy. Also, class is not as boring as you would think because you just bulshit with her the whole time.
