BUS 391 Senior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 9:13 pm, Jul 9, 2002 Report Evaluation |
Professor Athey seems fairly knowledgable in the area of MIS. However, she often speaks in a condescending tone and acts rather stuck up. She is extremely anal in her grading as well. Her lectures are pretty boring. I recall a lot of powerpoint slides that dragged on and on.

Very nice and helpful teacher. Easy to understand her lectures. Test answers came directly out of the textbook. Recommended

BUS 391 Junior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 2:49 pm, Oct 29, 2001 Report Evaluation |
This class is one of the easiest classes that I have ever taken. She does not have very much work, only 3 projects and a couple tests. The projects are extremely easy, only a little time-consuming. You just need to pay attention to her lectures. Her test are really detailed, so don't miss any class or you will be screwed.

BUS 291 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 12:10 am, Jun 20, 2001 Report Evaluation |
I don't agree with what many of the other people wrote above. She seemed really flexible, and awarded students points they lost on several occasions. The projects were very easy to do in little time. You could study for tests the night before and still do good on them. Also, you only have to go to lab the first half of the quarter, so you get out of class in about an hour. I would recommend this teacher to everyone.

BUS 291 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 8:11 am, Mar 29, 2001 Report Evaluation |
Athey is pretty easy, but she tends to be anal about things so there is no use arguing with her. Her projects are fairly easy, and the points you get from those will offset her tests. Her tests are fairly difficult and are on obscure facts in the book.

BUS 291 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 8:18 am, Mar 7, 2001 Report Evaluation |
Overall, I thought this class was put together very well. The only reason I didn't get an A is because of a few stupid missed points on projects, and not so good test scores. There are 3 computer projects, which are pretty easy, 2 midterms (5 chapters each), and a final (only 3 chapters). All the tests are based on reading and lecture notes (1/2 the questions are from each) so it's pretty well explained. Just make sure you stay on top of the reading, even though it tends to be a lot and it's kinda boring. The course involves a lot of memorization, so make notecards!

BUS 391 Junior Grade Earned: A Elective 5:40 pm, Dec 6, 1999 Report Evaluation |
Anal. That is all you need to know. She is fixed on her teaching and on what she wants in terms of project requirements and answers to tests. She is not open to suggestion, she won't listen to you if you try to explain your reasoning on test answers. The workload is light (3 projects (easy), one midterm, one final). The midterm and final are mult. choice only and while they aren't exactly hard, they are very detailed answers so you have to memorize every word in the book to get an A. Overall, this teacher annoyed me because of her "I am right and I know everything" attitude, but the class itself was not hard and did teach quite a bit about the subject.
