Well, let me start by saying, I came into this class excited to take math again because I've always loved math... but then I took this class, and I don't feel the same way. Russ is a terrible teacher! I'm sure if I had a different teacher, one who had more experience and understanding to the needs of students, I would have gotten at least a B in this course. I should have dropped this class after the first day when she treated the class like we were a kindergarten class, threatening not to teach us if we weren't quiet (even though the class was drop dead silent). She talks extrememly fast, so it's very hard to comprehend what she is teaching you. She ended up getting behind in teaching us material because she didn't plan the sections out properly, so there were days where we went over FOUR sections of material opposed to TWO. It was insanely hard to remember four sections of material for just one two hour class meeting. Also, the tests were INSANE! I understood most of the material, but when it came to the tests, her problems were outrageous numbers that were near impossible to figure out. If I had taken a year or two of calculus in high school prior to this class, I'm sure I would have gotten a much higher grade in this class... simply because I would have only come to class to turn in homework and take tests. After taking this class, I'm dreading taking any more math classes. So, I suggest taking this class if you want to hate math for the rest of your life.
