UNIV 339 is the WORST CLASS EVER! The information is potentially interesting, but all the professors are horrendous at teaching and don't even know the information they're trying to present. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! | |

The class UNIV 339...Topping gives extremely boring lectures and shows the same slides on his powerpoint like 50 x's. It is so hard to concentrate because this class was at 7:40 in the morning and then the guy takes roll right at 7:40 so if you are a few minutes late you don't get point. Also he looks like Orville Redenbacher. | |

I don't know how this guy was able to last longer than a quarter here at CalPoly as a part-time lecturer. He simply does not get it. After the first few weeks, less than half (literally) of the class showed up. I happened to show up every day. His lectures are droll, lifeless, and straight out of the textbooks. He assigns a TON of the pointless reading, but he lectures on it anyways. I didn't study for the final, made up my answers, sprinkled them with hot-button words and he gave me a 95% on a final that should have gotten a D, at best. He also assigns a Discussion Paper, which is easy to fudge. The "research" project is 15 pages long, but isn't hard to write, knowing the low level of quality he accepts as an A. Although he's a nice guy, he just doesn't get it. This is a certified Easy A class for all you easy-A seekers though. | |
