AGB 451 5th Year Senior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 12:35 pm, Jun 9, 2006 Report Evaluation |
Ummmm. David...likes to talk, and whether he is teaching or just talking to himself in front of the class is debatable. He is a nice guy, but I really don't think he looks at anything that anyone turns in. If you talk in class and seem to have a firm understanding of the case studies, you get an A. If you are quiet, you get a B. Good Luck International Concentrations.

Shaw is a great guy and a very unconventional teacher. You wont ever have to take a test in this class except a few online quizzes on blackboard. Furthermore, you won't ever have to turn anything in individually-the whole class is based upon group work, namely two major projects. Dont worry- he breaks these projects up into small pieces. But dont get too excited, these projects are a LOT of work and your group must be very motivated to get As on the exercizes, presentations and final projects. He grades on a curve, so even if your group does really well it is probably not good enough for an A if someone else goes over and above the expectations. 10% of your grade will be based upon participation...you will need to come to class in order to participate! My advice for this course is as follows: 1)get into a good group- they will become your family throughout the quarter and will determine most of your class grade 2)be prepared to use all the library's catalogs 3)pick a product that has lots of information available on it 3)realize that you will pass no matter what, but probably not get an A or B unless you go over and above and do the extra credit, come to class, go to office hours, understand expectations and do the online quizzes. Overall: this is an informative class, Shaw is a good guy, he's VERY into the material and sometimes you cant help but snicker at the guy.. in good humor of course!

Shaw is a great guy. He knows that people have other classes to take, and he understands that not everyone can come to every class. The classroom setting is more like a group discussion. That is what he aims for. Every day, almost, you do a case study, and all he wants is for you to have some input. There is no right or wrong answer. You do have a HUGE project, but it is group. You have to come up with a marketing plan, and research like crazy. However, presenting is easy, casual, and with your group as well. Your final is take home case study, and your tests are online to do at your leisure. He understands the strain on students. Take him.

AGB 318 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 8:15 am, Jun 15, 2005 Report Evaluation |
This is the WORST teacher I have had in my LIFE! He does not let you know what your grade is AT ALL untill you get my grades at the end of the quarter. I busted my butt and I know I deserved an A and he gave me a B only because he is up for tenure and wants to seem strict! He does not teach you anything at all! There is a huge project which he does not describe well just tells you to try your best then gives you a C on it! He seriously is terrible, I know taking him will be hard to avoid but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try to! You will be much happier with ANY other teacher!
