Dr. Bohr was a really good teacher. He was pretty funny.(i thought his "death" jokes and situations were funny) Very fair tests and quizzes. Plenty of EC was offered too to boost your grade. Just read the book and review your notes and the class isn't too bad at all!

one of the best teacher's i have ever had. i took GEOG 250 in my second year (got an A) and GEOG 318 my junior year (got a B). he isn't unrealistic with how much he requires students to know - but he definitely has high expectations, WHICH IS A GOOD THING. to say he is super helpful is an understatement. he was always willing to help me when i just couldn't understand GIS (i'm not great with technology) and he was totally understanding when i had to reschedule my final because of a family emergency. i came away from both classes with actual knowledge, rather than just learning material for the tests. BOHR IS THE MAN! i can't wait to have my last class as a senior with him!

Professor Bohr is awesome. This class was not always captivating, but he tried his best to present the material in a way that we would understand. He is always willing to answer any questions to help you better understand the material. The tests were not too difficult, only the questions that ask about the reading would be difficult because they were kind of specific. The quizzes are based on lecture and 2 of 7 will be extra credit. Pretty manageable class.

Great professor, but hard to sit through his class because he is so monotone. He is super chill about late work and really lets you turn it in anytime during the quarter. Plus, you only go to lab once during the quarter.

GEOG 150 Junior Grade Earned: A General Ed 11:22 am, Dec 22, 2009 Report Evaluation |
He is a really good teacher. You still have to work hard in the class though- like go to class and take thorough notes. I skimmed through the readings in the textbook and I bought the older edition of the book for wayyyy less money; it did not make much of a difference. Studying the lectures would be more important for the tests.

GEOG 150 Junior Grade Earned: A General Ed 2:11 pm, Jun 17, 2009 Report Evaluation |
Bohr is an awesome teacher. He keeps the material as interesting as possible. Make sure to read the book. If you are looking for an easy class to pass, this is it, BUT if you want a good grade, be prepared to put in some extra effort. That’s how every GE class should be, easy to pass, difficult to get an A. The class itself can be dull at times, but do not blame the teacher, its just the class.

Great teacher, had him from 6pm-8pm and he made the lectures interesting even though it was cultural geography. Straight forward tests, no tricks, if you do the reading and look over the notes you will get an A.

Bohr is a funny guy. Class is pretty interesting if you like computer programs. Labs were twice a week about 2 hours each, weren't very hard though. There was one midterm, one final and a project for GIS. Tests were fair, and the lab tests were open-book and open-notes which was nice. Pretty cool class overall, Bohr has a morbid but funny personality.

Bohr is awesome. He presents all the material very straight forwardly and clearly; you're never surprised as to what's on the tests. He has a sarcastic sense of humor and regularly cracks jokes. Definitely would recommend him.

Bohr is a good guy. He presents the material clearly, and he welcomes questions about anything he goes over. His quizzes are actually pretty hard, so try to study at least a little for those. His tests are also challenging. The good thing is that he curves almost an entire grade from what you should've of received in the class.I ended up with a B+, but really should've received a C. Ill warn you now though, don't be surprised if this class is boring as hell.

This was a computer-lab class. The lecture was a little slow, but lab was effective. Bohr, as always, was humorously sarcastic. He is always willing to help in lab or answer any questions in class. I actually did all of the reading right before the tests and thought it was a good time investment. There were two labs a week that could mostly be completed before time was up. Most of the points came from the labs. There was also 2 tests and a final project. GIS is a good skill to have, but takes time to build.

I am a social sciences major, so I had to take this class. Overall, the material was just not very interesting, making it very hard to really get into it. Dr. Bohr was very nice except he seemed to focus way too much on climatology resulting in the course focusing mainly on wind. There are three tests which make up your entire grade.

not a bad teacher...makes funny jokes usually about death, so pretty morbid. two midterms and a cumulative final, not bad if you pay attention. dont really have to read the textbook, just follow the lecture notes. there are 7 quizzes which are unannounced so that sucks cuz theyre really detailed.

GEOG 317 Junior Grade Earned: N/A Elective 10:10 pm, Dec 19, 2006 Report Evaluation |
Lectures are boring as hell, but that is expected. Seems nervous everytime he lectures, and some of the questions on the final were completely random and he never talked about them, that is why the class average for the final was a D. He may seem easy through the weeks, but remember that over 50% of the grade is turned in or completed in one day, paper 30%, and final 25% or something like that. He has way too much control over grades, which i hate, just give me a damn scantron for the midterm and final and let the grade be decided by the student.

Mr. Bohr is a really great guy, he doesn't try to trick you at all on the tests, all you have to do is read and look at the notes. I barely went to class or read and I did alright. I would def read more, the material is easy to understand, and pretty much common sense. Bohr does a good job of presenting the material, even though it is dry, but he puts in his unique sense of humor.

Greg Bohr's classroom is a very relaxed atmosphere and his corny jokes are great additions to normally dull material. I think he told us at least 5 ways of how to kill ourselves relative to geographical phenomena and features... but he didn't recommend that we do it. You can download the complete PowerPoint presentations from Blackboard, so you'll want to download and print them and bring them to lecture. Tests and quizzes are really easy and straightforward, that is, if you go to lecture. The book we used actually made me more confused if anything, so I don't recommend focusing too much time on the book, but definitely go to lecture...

very boring, couldnt stay awake most of the time, but he didnt seem to care. doesnt seem interested in his students at all, tests were somewhat easy, but a lot of questions were very specific and vague, no work for the class was a plus, if u put in the time to study for the map quizzes and the midterms, its an easy B and a possible A

Dr. Bohr was a pretty good teacher. I didn't expect to get anything from a geography class, but it was really interesting! He presents the info in an interesting and easy way to understand. His jokes are pretty entertaining, too. His tests are easy, but fair to the material. He also gives a few chances for extra credit. I would definetly take his class again! Good prof. good class.

Dr. Bohr is a great teacher. He is very knowledgeable about the subject material. He does have an updated version of the softwear so sometime what he tells you to do is not quite how you do it. He does go out of his way to help you learn. This course involves a lot of computer work with GIS software. But don't worry there were people in the class, including me, that just did not understand. The cool thing is he will go over how to do something over and over again until you get it. I lost count of how many times people asked the same question that he just answered and still do not know what to do next. GISARCVIEW can be confusing sometimes. But Dr. Bohr never showed the class any impatience (only when those "smart" rooms were not so smart). He is a very fair grader. One thing to remember is he does not like blank spaces on your maps. Try to fill up your map. His lectures are monotonous, but he has a good sense of humor to lighten things up. I would take this teacher over again in a heart beat!

GEOG 414 Senior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 5:33 pm, Apr 17, 2005 Report Evaluation |
Dr. Bohr uses power point for all of his lectures and has a low voice. Sitting in the front of class is better then the back. His tests are average if you study. This class has a lab but is never used. So plan on getting out early on lab days. This class is all about air cells and movements. Consentrate on taking good notes in those sections. Either I wrote a kick ass paper (which I don't think I did) or he curved the class. Bohr is a nice teacher once you get to know him. I would take another class with him in a heart beat.

I enjoyed Mr. Bohr's goegraphy 250 class. Although the subject can be boring quite often, he manages to keep a lighter mood with his sense of humor. He presents all the material on powerpoint, and it is also all available on blackboard. The tests and quizzes are easy if you look over notes a couple times.

I think Bohr is a very good teacher. He presents the material in a way that is very clear and easy to learn. I agree that the textbook is kind of a waste of money, I skimmed through it before the midterms and didn't even open it for the final, and still got an A in the class. Pay attention to the powerpoints during class, and take notes on the extra stuff he puts on the chalkboard - those topics often come up on exams. A lot of people skipped this class, and he would often give extra credit to the people who actually showed up on low attendance days, so come to class! Bohr is a good teacher who is fair and always willing to answer questions. I would definitely take a class from him again.

good teacher! material is kinda boring, you dont really need the book, kinda a waste of money, but the reading helps a little. All the info on tests he goes over during the lectures, which are all power points. some thought that was boring, but i thought he was organized and consistant. no mid term or final, only 3 tests 30% each and two map quizes, 5% each, which are really easy to get 100% if you study. He also gives extra credit, go to class! if alot of people are not there, he'll take attendance and give them extra credit for showing up. Take him if you can!

Bohr is good instructor. Class is super easy. All of his notes are on powerpoint and on blackboard. That leaves a problem tho, if you are like me, the notes are on the net, you dont go to class. I would have gone to class but his class is SO boring. It put me asleep along with half the other people. There are 2 midterms (i got b+s with a good amount of studying) 2 map quizes (free points) and a non cum final (basically a 3rd midterm). Its an easy B, easy to get an A if you go to class.

I didn't always go to class but when I did, I guess I enjoyed it. Classes are boring but it's not his fault because the material is boring. He's very nice and he does try his best to crack a lot of jokes. I thought he was funny; he has a very cynical sense of humor. One day he told us he was feeling "lame" and didn't want to be there so we got to go home like 30 minutes into the class. Actually he let us go early a lot. He knows pretty much everything about the subject matter. And all the material was on powerpoint and the powerpoint slides were on blackboard so it was a pretty easy class. I would recommend taking it.

SOC 150 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 6:01 pm, May 9, 2004 Report Evaluation |
Prof. Bohr is a nice guy, but extremely boring, he knows this so he tries to make up for it with very lame jokes, and then points out the fact that no one laughs at them. He is very organized and everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is on powerpoint, which makes an already boring class that much more boring. Just be aware that you are going to be staring at a screen all quarter long and listening to him read off what is already up there. Midterms aren't too difficult (definately bypass the book and rely on the powerpoint slides online), and the few quizzes are a piece of cake. He curves the grades at the end as well. To summarize: Nice, but boring; organized and fair, but boring. Final analysis: BORING!

Prof. Bohr is a great instructor. He doesn't take himself too seriously, but is very knowledgeable about the subject material. He will go out of his way to help you learn. This course involves a lot of computer work with GIS software and there were people in my class (including me sometimes) that were utterly CLUELESS about how to work with computers. I lost count of how many times people asked the very questions that he just answered and they'd still have no clue on what to do next. He basically had to stick a pacifier in their whiny little mouths and babystep them through the whole process. I have to admit though, ARCVIEW can be confusing sometimes. But Prof. Bohr never showed any impatience. He is a very fair grader and did a good job of amending his syllabus to account for our ineptitude at learning the material. His lectures can get a bit monotonous at times, but he has a good sense of humor to lighten things up. Overall, a great prof.

Bohr is a fantastic teacher and a great guy. I had absolutely no interest in this subject coming in to the class, but he made it tolerable with his lame jokes and great attitude. He is the kind of guy who would do anything to make you understand a hard topic, so if you're having trouble go to his office hours and he'll work with you. The reading is way too much but luckily you don't have to do it before coming to class, or at all because he makes everything clear in class. The tests are hard, but fair. The paper is easy if you're not lazy.

An informative class, and not too tough. There are 2 map quizzes where you have to learn like 70 features, but they were easier than I thought. There isn't any homework, and he uses blackboard (the midterms go up the same day you take them, which I appreciated). The powerpoint outlines are also put up on the site the day before he gives them.

Bohr is a good teacher. He does seem a little nervous, but he is always prepared with his power point presentations and makes everything very clear with a lot of details. He does make a lot of dorky geography jokes and class usually ends about a 1/2 hour early. I definitely recommend him.

This guy is highly organized. He has powerpoint outlines for each class, which he posts on blackboard. The best thing to do is to print out the slides before class and then take extra notes directly on your print out. That way, you can catch little details you would have missed if trying to copy the slide info into a notebook. He's got a good sense of humor and constantly makes dorky geography jokes which lighten up the class. Can be boring at times.. Don't read the book. To get an A.. study the slides and classnotes as much as possible and you'll be fine. One out-of-class project that's not too much to handle. Take this professor if you can.
