Great class, great teacher. Had him for Bus 303 also. Tests are open note, just do the reading and pay attention in class. He has tons of experience and some pretty interesting stories that help break up lecture.

BUS 303 Senior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 7:58 pm, Oct 24, 2005 Report Evaluation |
The class was great. It was fairly easy. You do three group reports where you have to read a case study given in the book and answer a few questions and give a presentation in class. The plus side to this is that your whole group is not required to present; one or two people can present if you'd like.

Not only was Weber awesome, this class was a lot of fun too. Keep up with your reading, take plenty of notes while reading, and get started early on the project, you will be set. Oh, make sure you pick a project that you will enjoy, or you will lose interest quickly.

Take Him. He has a laid back lecture style, very comfortable class, not too much work (only one midterm, one case study, and one essay (7pgs). You have to go to class, and you must take notes..very good word for word notes to get a good grade on the midterm. He does offer 5pts extra credit for a presentation (that almost all of the class do) The hardest part is the midterm...take WORD for WORD notes.

Weber shouldn't be here at Poly. He is far too experienced and intelligent to be at a school with a false reputation. His international skills really set the bar for our other professors. Unfortunately, 90% of the biz department is crap. Take Weber! His classes are definitely worth the money your mommy and daddy are paying.

An awesome teacher! The tests are very straight forward and there are plenty of chances for extra credit. He will answer any question even if unrelated to course. I enjoyed his class so much I am going to double concentrate in international. He's great, take him if you can!!

Dan Weber may very well be the best teacher at Cal Poly. I'm sorry that he doesn't teach more subjects. Super cool guy, easy to talk to, lectures are never boring, and the class is pretty easy. You have to come to every class and you have to open your mouth at least once each class to get an A, but that's not so bad. Case Studies are tough and take some time, but you'll get over it. I've never heard of anyone saying anything bad about Weber. He's the shit. If you want to make life even easier, talk to someone who has had him about his tests and cases. You'll find out why this is a good thing to do if you take his class.

Weber is an asset to Cal Poly. If you want a professor who has had real international corporate experience, he's your man. Lectures are pretty good, and we were out of class at least a half hour early almost every day. You can really learn a lot from this guy, if you desire to. The class is not entirely difficult...he gives three open note quizzes (if you have really good notes you can get a perfect on all of them) and you have to do four executive summaries on various Harvard cases in International business. There are numerous opportunities for extra credit throughout the quarter, and his grading is very fair. Great guy, dont let him scare you away on the first day. The workload is way easier than he makes it out to be.

Dan's a nice guy. Arrogant as hell (he will tell you he's humble many times) but he has some good stories that relate to the class. Make sure you do your cultural paper on something religious, Christianity if you can. DO ALL EXTRA CREDITS!! Learn the Hofstede stuff. I marked him down because things that he says are optional are really required. One assignment says to write 3-5 pages, but you get a lower grade if you don't write 5 pages with no space left over. About half the class found that out when we got papers back. Don't skip classes. He makes you write down the exact comments you made for every class to get participation points.
