BUS 425 Senior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 1:38 pm, Feb 24, 2004 Report Evaluation		Mansfield is an EXCELLENT teacher. This auditing class is really preparing for my career and he definitely knows his stuff. He is a former partner from Deloitte and is just teaching because he likes the students here. Trust me, you can learn alot from this guy. For his exams, just study his handouts and participate in class.

BUS 425 5th Year Senior Grade Earned: C Required (Major) 3:14 pm, Jan 7, 2004 Report Evaluation		Dr. Mansfield knows his stuff. He is a really nice guy. His tests are pretty hard though. He gives two midterms and a final. And has some points for attendance and participation. He is very helpful is office hours and really wants to help the students. I would recommend him.

BUS 425 Senior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 5:55 pm, Dec 19, 2003 Report Evaluation		Mansfield know a lot about business and accounting and it is interesting to hear the stories about his career. Sometimes his lectures are boring but if you go to class it really helps for the test. The tests are mostly verbatim off of the handouts he passes out, but sometimes there are questions that weren't covered in class.

BUS 212 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 5:30 pm, Jun 22, 2003 Report Evaluation		I give the guy credit for lecturing to 200 students who didn't know a damn thing about accounting while undergoing experimental treatment for bone cancer. That, in itself, is quite an accomplishment and Mansfield has my respect in this aspect of the class. However, sitting through 2 solid hours of boring power point accounting lectures twice a week was treacherous. The slides were full of erroneous information and never once were we shown how to actually set up an income statement or balance sheet, which are two basic fundamentals of the class. The tests were ridiculously hard compared to the questions that were asked on the homework. And towards the end of class, the tests were only 20-30 questions long so if you happen to miss like 5 questions, your grade suffered. I don't know what the other BUS 212 professors are like, but I wouldn't take Mansfield again.

BUS 212 Freshman Grade Earned: N/A Required (Major) 9:33 pm, May 4, 2003 Report Evaluation		I have on word for you.... BORING! If you want a class that is pointless to go to and teacher who speaks in monotone voice for two hours, then go right ahead. I learned nothing from this class and he did nothing to help me or any of his students to understand. He's a nice guy, but he should NOT be a teacher. Go back to Coca Cola!

BUS 215 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Major) 4:45 pm, Apr 18, 2003 Report Evaluation		I would recommend NOT taking this teacher. His tests are impossible to read because of the font (which he wouldn't change even after requested by the class), lectures are boring, and I didn't learn anything from this class. His tests are MC so at least you can guess. You can do this class if you understand the material, but he doesn't help in helping you understand it. I truly disliked managerial accounting, and still do.

BUS 215 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 8:36 pm, Mar 27, 2003 Report Evaluation		Mansfield is a nice guy, but an awful teacher. He doesn't even know the material that he teaches, so he repeats exactly what the powerpoint slides (from the book) says. He has decent examples from his experience from working with Pepsi, but about a quarter of the questions in the midterms and finals are insignificant to the course material, which is frustrating.

BUS 215 Sophomore Grade Earned: N/A Required (Major) 12:21 am, Mar 3, 2003 Report Evaluation		I unfortunately transfred into this class from another accounting class because of the last evaluation on this professor which rated him with a 4.0. Do not be fooled by this evaluation. This teacher is a nice person but cannot teach this subject! As everyone says he lectures straight from the book and doesn't seem to really care about the material at all. It's really frustrating when you are really trying to learn the material so you can do well in the class. The tests are wierd and he is known to not even be able to figure out his own test questions when you question him about them after the test. My advice, take this from another teacher you'll do much better an may even like the class!

BUS 215 Sophomore Grade Earned: N/A Required (Major) 9:58 pm, Feb 21, 2003 Report Evaluation		I usually don't likek to give teachers negative evaluations but Mansfield is really not a very good teacher. He uses the powerpoint presentation made by the book for class lectures which makes it pointless to come to class because you could just read the book at home yourslef. I still go to class but I really don't learn the material until the weekend before the test and I do this by reading the book and doing the comprehensive problem at the end of each chapter. He worked at Coke so he gives real world examples but you can tell that he is VERY disinterested in the class. It is a begining level course, fairly easy material but he just doesn't measure up to the caliber of teachers I am used to in the Business department. I think he is a better teacher for Audit, another course he teaches, because he was a partner at one of the Big 4 for a number of years and when I asked him about the class one day during Bus 215 he really got interested and just talked a lot about it. In other words, I have heard he is a really good teacher by those who have taken him for Audit and that makes sence since he is really interested in it, however, for 215 he sucks. He doen't keep up on the material so when you ask him a question douring class or office hours he has to figure out what you're asking and then can help you or, more commonly, he'll tell you it's not important to know or, my favorite, "You did well on the last test so I'm sure you can figure this out without my help." 2 midterms 1 final 3 excel homework problems 2 pop quizes 4 wall street journal article evaluations

BUS 215 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 12:30 am, Feb 7, 2003 Report Evaluation		Mansfield lectures straight from the book's powerpoint slides. He gave two noncumulative midterms and a cumulative final that are MC with difficult font to read. You have about five assignments you do on Excel with a partner - two of them done individually. He also gave two "pop" quizzes during the quarter, usually on class meetings before a holiday or break. The content of this class is not difficult, but Mansfield doesn't make it clear or structured. He assigns practice problems that he doesn't collect, and the solutions are on another professor's website that don't have the same question and solutions. He talks about Coca-Cola a lot, and he calls on people throughout his boring lecture. He curves at the end, so grades were probably bumped up one letter grade.

BUS 215 Junior Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 7:36 pm, Dec 29, 2002 Report Evaluation		This guy is awesome! I was prepared to hate accounting, but going to Professor Mansfield's class at 7 a.m. was no problem. He explains every concept extremely clearly, is very patient, and will repeat anything for ANY student who does not clearly understand the material. He never puts anything on an exam that was not covered at least twice in lecture, so as long as you study you should do fine. I highly recommend this professor!
