Bisbing is an awesome professor. She really enjoys the stuff she teaches and makes it very easy to understand. The two midterms and final were very straight forward and easy to pass if you pay attention everyday and somewhat study. Totally worth taking her as a professor. Definitely recommend.

Bisbing kicks ass. Unlike a lot of professors, you get the impression that she actually cares/is interested in the information and she'll make you stoked about forests. Tip: She's all about dat student participation. Expectations for the class are super clear. Take notes and do the homework and the midterms and final will be super easy. Also, she's nice, helpful outside of class, etc.

Dr. Bisbing is a fantastic and knowledgeable professor. The assignments and activities done both in lab and lecture are interesting and thought provoking, while not overbearing. If you are willing to put in th effort, the class is quite easy to do well in. The bulk of the course load is in the form of a group essay/research proposal and the weekly journal article critiques as well as the weekly lab assignments. There are also occasional quizzes on mainly lecture material. Dr. Bisbing also is super down to earth and is incredibly helpful with any problems you may have, and is a very accessible professor and all around awesome person. I would highly recommend her.

I definitely recommend Dr. Bisbing, she has a lot of experience in her field and makes the class interactive and interesting. Because she is new there were some things that were a little off, but she will learn in time. Also, there are a lot of points to gain in different areas which makes everything a little less stressful. I know she has changed the set up of the class over this year so it may change again, but we had 2 midterms, a final, weekly summaries, a couple homework assignments, and lab (not taught be her this quarter) all toward our grade. My only complaint is that she refused to go over population growth math problems in class and did not understand when many people got these questions wrong on the tests and was actually a little rude about it. So make her do a couple examples!

Dr. Bisbing is a great addition to the NRES Dept. She's mainly focused on trees and ecosystems, not much animal/invertebrate info. There's another class that focuses more on that if you're interested in it. She has a fresh perspective and is very helpful during class, lab, and office hour. Make sure to keep up on all of the readings, writings, and lab write ups, it will help in the end. If you are a hard-working student and put the effort forth, you should do great. If you're sick, don't come to class, she is very understanding and will give you make up assignments. She offered our class an optional final. Make sure to do well in the group project/research proposal and try to do all the extra credit offered (even though it's not worth a whole lot). Also keep up with the lab journal because it's worth a little in extra credit too. I enjoyed this class a lot and Dr. Bisbing is funny, intelligent, and a very considerate person.

During this entire quarter all I could think about was how this professor reminded me of that small little dog that runs through the back of scene 23 in The Incredibles by Pixar. Seriously, if you look it up you will only be able to see it...
